Correct closed purchase invoice number

How do I change a purchase invoice number? I simply typed the wrong number in and I can't change it without this ridiculous work around. I can't even apply a purchase credit memo because it's a closed invoice. Can I delete the posted purchase invoice? Anything? I want to use that invoice number.

    Hello Megan - I am not seeing a way in BC Saas to change the Invoice Number after something has been posted.  You wouldn't be able to delete this with out an extension.

    You are not supposed to change or delete the invoice number after posting. You will have an issue with auditor if you do that.

    You can try adding a suffix, such as '-2', to the end of the invoice number so you have a unique invoice number.
