Data migration from AX 2012 R3 to D365

Dear Experts,

Due to partitions in AX 2012 and not so clean data, we are planning to go to D365 with opening balance. What would be the best way to migrate COA, Master configurations and base setup before going for a opening balance. 

Is there a script available to extract master data from Ax 2012 to D365, if we can write one what are the things to note (is it complex). I came to know about Data migration tool for AX 2012 R2 and Ax 2009, can i use that to migrate data and configurations

Apologies for too many queries, I am new to D365 and AX. I am looking to solve a roadblock in our upgrade project.

    Hi Veeraraj,

    DMT tool only support AX 2009 data migration to D365. You can  use standard DMF for AX 2012 data migration to D365. 

    AX 2102 DMF does not support package functionality. Therefore, you can export the package template from D365 and replace file from AX 2012 DMF. However, entity and column name should be same. 

     

    Otherwise, you can import one by one file from AX 2102 to D365 as per sequence.

    COA , master configurations and set ups can be imported through data management . You can get more information on below link

    docs.microsoft.com/.../data-entities-data-packages

    You can extract data from Ax 2012 in templates(e.g csv , excel etc ) and use entities to import data
