GP 9 HR "On-Boarding" processes

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have a question about where items would be placed or stored as a part of the "on-boarding" process in the HR module. Currently, our HR team keeps several records in a separate database for drug and backgound testing results instead of placing them in GP as a part of the Employee Card record.

In GP, is there a specific location to store these records, or would we need to use the "User Defined" fields for these types of entries? Does GP have a true on-boarding module that would handle these items better? We use PAM in conjunction with GP, but I don't see a place to storre these entries in PAM as well.

Any suggestions? (aside from migrating to a different version)

Thanks.

    Sandip & Callen,

Thank you for your input and responses to my inquiry. Since our use of GP is probably a little different from most organizations, we will have to look at a way to use the system that fits our model best. In this case, I think that using the PAM Module (Professional Advantage Payroll add-on) will better fit our needs. My original goal was to find out if anyone is actually using GP or PAM to track this inforamation. It appears that no one is using GP or the PAM Module for this purpose based on feedback from Professional Advantage and our Microsoft Partner.

The health and wellness functionality in Advanced HR provides a window specifically for tracking this type of information. If you don't have Advanced HR, the tests window is where you could track the information.

    Sandipjadhav,

I see that there are many available sub windows on the Employee Maintenance Window, but is there a "specific" location (window) that an HR department would use for tracking Drug screen results (Date Submitted, Date Completed, Company Performing Test, Results) similar to the I-9 or Educaton windows? There would need to be a place to store the same type of information for Background checks as well.

    Thanks.

    Victor,

There are several screen available to enter all employee "on board" details  in Employee Details -->Click on GOTO button and you will see screens available to enter employee additional information.

Hope I try to answer your question.

    Thanks
