FA retirement dates/posting dates

I'm retiring an asset on 09/27/2013 which is period 2 of fiscal year 2014. When I go to GL Posting I am expecting to run this process using 2014-002; however, it doesn't pull up in this period. I was able to see this transaction in GL Posting when using 2014-001 and it shows in the Financial Detail Record as 2014-001. Why would that be? This asset was set up with an Averaging Convention of Next Period.

When was the retirement transaction created?  Are you posting by batch date or transaction date?  (check posting table in admin)

I belive I found my answer in looking at the Averaging Convention. Since it was set to Full Period, this convention uses the last day of the period previous to the Retirement Date for asset disposals.
