Numbering Convention for Receivables Debit Memos and Credit Memos

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello:

We are on GP 2013 R2 (12.00.1920).  One of our admins just noticed that the numbering convention in the Receivables Management Setup Options window recently changed in one of our twenty-one companies.

In this company, the Debit Memo all of a sudden has the same prefix as the Credit Memo numbering.

Why would this happen, all of a sudden?

Thank you!

John

Actually, based on research that I just did, I think that I may have figured this out.

I had forgotten this.  But, I believe that this is actually a “feature” of GP.  When an end user physically types a Debit Memo number to change the number to something specific and "fat fingers" it, GP changes the master number.

Does anyone disagree, with this opinion?
