Column Dimension Filter

Posted on by 110

Hi,

I have an account format where the last two segments are lengths of 3 and 2. For example, I may have 2LL-QS and 2LL-XL. I want two columns to restrict by these. However; it seems like it takes and 'or' instead of an 'and'. If I have '+Facility = [2LL] +Type = [QS]' I get all accounts with QS as the last segment.

Can I restrict a column using more than one of the account segments?

thx,

Doug

    RE: Column Dimension Filter

    Hi Matt,

Than ks for the reply. I did try that, but it didn't quite work. If the accounts with both segments exist it does work. For example, if 2LL-QS exists it will display in the column. However; if it does not exist it sometimesseems to flip to an 'or' and displays all results with QS in the account. I think it may be that if no transactions have occurred for that segment combination it flips to the or.

I can have the first segment restriction in the column and separate tree branches for QS, but that will be an issue if I need more detailed column filtering on other reports.

For some columns it does work so I will keep digging to see if I notice anything. At this point, it feels like a bug or I may need to 'rebuild the data mart'....again! lol

You actually want a comma in between them instead of a +.

    So +Facility = [2LL], Type = [QS] instead of +Facility = [2LL] +Type = [QS]

If you double click in the Dimension filter field and add your dimensions there it will build the formula for you.
