How to prevent duplicate contacts in Business Central

Our customer is creating new contacts in Business Central directly from Outlook. However, because the customer doesn't check manually whether a contact already checks in Business Central he sometimes creates duplicate contacts. Is there any way in Business Central to check whether a customers name / email address / telephone number already excists to prevent duplicate contacts?

You could create an extension in D365BC to check for duplicates. You can subscribe the OnAfterInsert event of the Contact table and here check if a duplicate exists. If so, throw an error.
