Is a Dynamics 365 F&O license required to run Project Operations for resource/non-stocked based scenarios?

Posted on by 5

There are three types of Project Operations deployments. The deployment type "Project Operations for resource/non-stocked based scenarios" seems to require a Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations environment as well. Does anyone know if a license for F&O is required in addition to the Project Operations license?

Lite seems straight forward, looks similar to PSA, and only requires a Project Operations license.

Coming from a Dynamics 365 CE background, this is kind of an uncharted area. Any pointers to understand prerequisites for the "Project Operations for resource/non-stocked based scenarios" deployment would be very welcome!

Thanks Taral, looks good. So we need what appears to be a minimum of 20 PO licenses, based on some general research. Cheers!

    Hello,

if you have minimum number of full user license of Project Operations than you'll have F&O environment included with that.

as mentioned in last line before table in attached screen shot in my previous reply.

Many thanks, that does provide some more insights on how things work!

The licensing guide doesn't seem to mention requiring an F&O license for the Project Operations resource/non-stocked based scenarios. I am guessing a Project Operations license will do, and you get the F&O environment included as part of the PO license.

Anyone know if that is the case?

    Hello,

For Project Operations for resource/non-stocked based scenarios you have to deploy both Finance and opertions and Project Operations applications and link both with the help pf Dual Write which is available in Finance and Operations.

Project Operations full user may have limited or some access for the finance and operations.
