Hi, My name is Randy.

I imported a file for released products using a data management tool to update the existing released products storage dimension.

The items which already had transactions linked to them could not update the storage dimension groups but instead removed the storage dimension groups completely which was linked to those items and now the storage dimension groups are blank for those items which already have existing transactions.

When I try to set up the storage dimension groups for these items using the front end interface, the system does not allow me as the field is greyed.

What is the workaround for this?

Hi Randy,

Please try to change it in top tab as my screenshot shows.

If it is also disabled, you need to change it in All products and product masters.

Hi Randy,

It is not possible or supported to update items with new storage dimension groups when there are transactions in the system. I do hope this is not your production environment, but a test instance to see about the impact. Potentially, you will need a restore of the database.

What is the reason to change the storage dimension groups?
