Fixed Assets - Purge Purchasing Transactions

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I ran the following utility:

Tools>Utilities>Fixed Assets>Purge Purchasing Transactions in GP2015.

It appeared to run successfully, but when I create a new asset the purged invoices are still there...

Is this a known issue?  Is there another way to do this?

Thanks,

Celine M. Gazes CPA

    David,

The are in the FA01100 table. Careful here, you don't necessarily want to clear ALL of the entries.

    Kind regards,

Leslie - would you happen to know the SQL table that needs to be cleared?

    Thanks,

    David

    Celine,

I believe this utility did not intend to clear the purchases table. What it does is clear out all of the purchases that you took into Fixed Assets. When you set up Fixed Assets you had a choice to Delete Purchasing Transactions Immediately. If you selected 'yes', then as soon as you bring a purchase into inventory, the record was removed from the asset purchase master table. So, if you did not choose to delete them immediately, you needed a method to clear those transactions. That is what the utility does. After you run the utility, you are left with the purchasing transactions that have not been capitalized. In Microsoftwords - it is working as designed.

So how do you get rid of them? You can delete them using SQL or you can capitalize them, retire them and the remove the asset. I think this is the way it works, I may very well be wrong.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

I noticed that you did not get a response to this. I am running onto the same issue. Did you get the issue resolved or any additional information on this?

    Thank you
