Hi,
I have a question around project set up and posting transactions. Does a project have to be 'open' in order to post transactions to it? I.e. if it is set to 'closed' can anything be posted to that project at all? Or would it have to be re opened, for that to be allowed.
Also, in regards to currency setting. Is it possible to change the currency when a project is set in progress and transactions already posted in say GBP but you want to then change the currency of the project to USD?
Thank you,
Becci
Hi Becci,
The project needs to have project stage set to "In process" in order to post transactions to it.
As for changing the currency, are you doing it from the project contract screen? If yes, then you are allowed to change the "Sales currency" here.
What you can do in a specific project stage is defined in the project parameters. In addition to the standard stages, you can have three additional ones and define what users are allowed doing in each stage by defining this in the project stage rules.
About the currency:
In the project contact, one can define the sales currency. You can 'flip', i.e. change the currency even if transactions are posted. The next transactions recorded will be invoiced in the new currency then.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Again, very helpful, thank you!
Apologies, one quick question on this. So in the project parameters, we can define that when a project is set as closed, transaction can be posted to that project?
Yes, more details here: docs.microsoft.com/.../about-project-stages
