made advance payment to customer.

I want to made advance payment to my customer .But system give me error on payment journal.

I cant made payment to customer through payment journal. I think payment jouranl are used for vendors .but there in option of customer.

Please suggest me how can I made paymenst to customer.

    What is the error? You could try using “Refund” instead of “Payment”. Do you need to use the payment journal as you want to send a digital file to the bank? If it’s a one off that doesn’t require that, just use a different journal. The Sales Journal for example.

    Hi ,

    Double entry should be as follows based on your requirement.

    Customer      Dr

    Cash/bank     Cr

    you can use payment journal with "refund" document type.

    PS:-

    # best option is cash receipt journal with "refund" document type.

    # "Payment" document type is used for receiving customer payments or send supplier payments only.
