IM and Excel field help

Posted on by 20

I am setting up a new integration between our payroll (outside vendor) and
GP.  I need to use the Transaction Type field for standard and reversing. I
do not know what to tell them to but in this field to identify the difference
between standard and reversing. I know that thie field type is enumeration length of 4 but how will GP know if it is a standard transaction vs. a Reversing transaction?

    Another feature of IM allows you to provide the actual english words in your source for any enumerated fields.  To determine what those words are you can choose to map the field to a constant in the destination mapping window and then look at the drop down (see image for your scenario if it works - if it doesn't they are 'Standard' and 'Reversing').

    Standard = 1 and Reversing = 2

    You can hard-wire the integration, or use a script to assign the value. If it is a reversing transaction you will need a reversing date.

     For example: I had an integration that had a column with the revesing date. If the date was null or blank, I set the transaction to standard. If it had a value then I set the transaction to reversing.
