Hi,
Sometimes my picking list number sequence behaves erratically.
My number jumps from 3000 to 1400 suddenly
Again i do the resetting of number sequence
when i checked the sequence , the system shows the correct number , but during generation, the number is different
What are the possibilities

It seems, your picking list number sequence is "Continous" and that's not correct.
I suggest to setup non-continous numbering sequence for picking list because that will be used sequentially and will not skip any numbers that is basically a right approach to manage and control Sales Picking List and Sales packing slip number sequence.
Is the number sequence set to Continuous? If yes, you can click "List" to see if the system has some numbers there. If the sequence is continuous, then unused numbers will be returned to the List, and the system uses them again.
You definetely should not set picking list number sequence to continuous, so disabling this setting should resolve your problem. Only such number sequences that are legally required to be continuous should be set to continuous.
