Invoices with balance remaning of .01

Posted on by 165

I am cleaning up a lot of old invoices in GP10. There are a lot of invoices that have been paid, but may have .01 as a remaining balance.

Is there a simple way to eliminate these discrepancies? They are in prior periods, and I have not found a simple solution.

Thanks,

Kenneth

I'm with Mark, I have not seen the Write Off process use any date other than the current GP user date.  And I have tested it on GP 10.0, as well.

    Kenneth,

Mike's answer is correct. When I tested this I couldn't get it to post to any date other than the current date. Is your GP date set correctly and is that period open? I don't have GP 10 to test with though. I'm on GP 2010.

    Mike,

That did not work because I am getting an error that I am unable to post to closed periods.

    Any other suggestions?

You could explore the "Write Off" utility available from Sales > Routines > Write Off Documents.

This is also documented in the Printable Manuals > Sales > Receivables Management starting on page 63.

I would strongly recommend running through this procedure in a test company to ensure the results are what you are after.
