Open attached files via phone\tablets

Posted on by

Hi!

I'm using NAV2017 and have attached files to customers cards. This files from shared network disk.

I can open attached files from customer card via NAV client without any problem.

But when I use WebClient and connect via phone/tablet I can't open this attached files (I always get blank page).

If attached file from OneDrive or Google Disk - all works fine.

What should I do to solve this problem?

Have anybody ideas?

    Hi Erik!

Yes, Windows Client works fine (installed inside out company).

Sometime (for example, on meeting) we use phone/tablets to connect to NAV and do something (via web client). Of course we are consist in our network/domain. But via phone/tablet we can't open attached files. I found that if I use IE and web client (on PC)- I could open file, if I use Chrome/Safari I can't open (security of this browser).

My main goal is - customize ability to open attached files in NAV from android.

    Best Regards,

    Anatoliy.

    Hi,

When you say that it works with the NAV client, then I assume that you mean the Windows Client?

And that this Windows client is installed behind your firewall inside your company domain?

What happens if you try to connect via a regular web client inside your network/domain?

And how are these files attached and how do you download them? If you don't "physically" downloads them via the client, but just gives the "user" link to where it is on the network, then for sure it will not work. [:)]

    Hi,

Can you try giving permissions to the IIS user for the files/folder? May be that solves your problem.
