I was hoping someone could assist me the below MR 2012 questions, from a customer who prefers to not have to open the viewer prior to downloading the report to excel.
So you can print to Excel without opening in a viewer and downloading to Excel? And then printing? Just like Frx?
And you can park the output on a network drive? Like Frx.
And can you schedule this to occur automatically? Unlike Frx.

No, you have to open the report in either the desktop or web viewer and export to Excel; you cannot produce directly to Excel.
The output generates into the Report Library which is held in the SQL DB; however, during generation you can choose to output a link to a network share or SharePoint site.
Yes, reports can be scheduled to run automatically.
