RMS 2.0 and PC Charage 5.9.3 SP 7 are compatible?

Looking for help to determine if RMS 2.0 and PC Charage 5.9.3 SP 7 are compatible.  It would appear that there is a known issue with PC Charge 5.9.1 and over time the database will get corrupt and you will not be able to process credit cards.  PC Charges solution/fix is in version 5.9.3 SP 7 , but they are not able to tell me if XP SP2, RMS 2.0 and their 5.9.3 SP 7 are compatible.

It is my understanding PC Charge is no longer compatible with RMS. Several years back I worked with a customer who was using PC Charge with RMS and needed to move to a newer version. At that time we were told future releases of the software would not be compatible with RMS.

Actually - today, I worked with PCCharge Support, installed 5.9.3 SP 7 , tested and verified that it does in fact work with RMS 2.0.

Prior to this, I was using PC Charge 5.9.1 and it was also working with RMS, there is just a known issue with the 5.9.1 that depending on the size of the database, it will become corrupt and that the only current fix it to upgrade to 5.9.3. SP7 to resolve the correct dbase issues.

How did you get around the time-out issue with PC Charge?

Never had that to begin with.  The only problem I ran into was the UserID not being found.  Turns out that your register # (ie 1) is the UserID, so it has to be "1" vs "User1"

Actually no version of PCC and RMS are PCI compliant.  The transfer of the credit card info is via a simple text file that can be hacked and stolen.

Then perhaps you should tell Microsoft to stop stating that PcCharge is an integrated partner:

    Andy,

Actually I started raising the issue with MDR about 2 years ago!

ICVerify has the same problem as PCC and last Friday, what was believed to be safe solution, Hypercom's SmartPayments (TPI) software, resellers and merchants were told that it had been breached and has been discontinued. For whatever reason, Hypercom has decided to kill it instead of fixing it after only ~2 years of ownership!

The only options now are using the built-in option from RMS or the add-ons that use it from Mercury, Retail Realm and New West Technologies with the MagTek iPAD

    What platforms does it support?

    Andy,

Don't get too wrapped up in the platform, just find a processor that gives decent rates and great service.

The built-in option RMS uses is TSYS.

Mecury and Retail Realm use Global Payments with their RMS add-on.  Retail Realm is writing the Mercury interface for the Magtek iPAD

New West Tech works with the Magtek iPAD for Payment Processing that goes thru Wells Fargo and National Bank of Canada which I think uses FDC.

Microsoft Dynamics also has their own payment services that works with RMS, they work with PayPal, FDC and CyberSource.
