My User is getting this message when trying to enter annendance transactions for some employees:
" not privileged to view or edit this record"
We have no implemented any user access based on employees so I have no idea what has caused this.
Any idea what is causing this?

Try to go to Tools | Setup | System | Human Resources Preferences.
Bottom Left
See if they have any filters setup for Division and Department, maybe they do and do not realize they were setup .

You are correct. There is a setup to filter on Department but oddly enough this user has access to all departments.
I have removed the filter as we do not need it and everything appears to be ok now.
