CRM Outlook Contact Tracking

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

On Dynamics 365 online, and using Outlook 2016. I've installed the 2016 Outlook client and now whenever I create a contact in CRM, it appears in my contacts in Outlook. I want to turn this off.

When I create a contact in my Outlook contacts, I want to be able to manually track it in, but I don't want any contacts created by me in CRM to automatically appear in Outlook.

How can I do this?

Thanks a lot.

The message received when the PA tries to track the item in the manager's calender is:

tracked records will be synchronized when the primary owner's mailbox connects to CRM

So I opened the managers Outlook, clicked Sync and yet the appointment record was not created in CRM (all the managers syncs are active)

    Thanks.

Also, my users need to be able to track Appointment records from Outlook into CRM, on behalf of other people. For example, the team PA has access to the manager's outlook calendar and creates appointments in their calendar. However, when the PA tries to track this into CRM we get a permission error.

    Hello Rich,

Go To Personal Options ->Email Tab -> Uncheck the Option: Automatically create records in Microsoft Dynamics 365

For more Information regarding tracking: www.microsoft.com/.../set-personal-options-that-affect-tracking-and-synchronization-between-dynamics-365-and-outlook-or-exchange.aspx
