Report Not Found

Posted on by 40

I have several GP users in the domain right now but only one of them is having this issue. When they attempt to run the trial balance report under "reports>>financial>>trial balance"  he receives an error stating "Report not found" He is the only one with this issue. I have re-installed GP for him to see if it resolves the issue. I am still kinda new when dealing with GP issues. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

    Correction - where I referred to dex.ini - I meant Dynamics.set file.

    Sorry for any confusion!

Another possibility is that this user's dex.ini is pointed to the wrong report.dic file.  I see this in environments where the reports.dic is in a shared directory but a user's dex.ini is pointed to the reports.dic file on the local machine.  He may have been given security to a modified report on the shared drive but GP can't find the report in the local file.

The solution in this case is to modify the dex.ini file to point to reports.dic in the shared directory.  If you find this to be the issue, check the dex.ini for the rest of your users to make sure they point the correct reports.dic.

    Re: Report Not Found

    Hi,

    It could be the following:

The Trial Balance report has been modified. This user was granted access to this modified version through Security Settings. When he tries to print the report, GP looks to his reports dictionary to find the modified version. However the modified version is no longer in the reports dictionary (eithre it has been deleted from the dictionary, or the dictionary he is using has been changed to one that does not have the modified version in it).

To resolve: (1.) Find a reports dictionary with the modified version in it and import the modified version into the reports dictionary this user is using. or (2.) At this users PC, log into the report writer, find the Financial Trial Balance report in the left hand column and insert it into the modified list. or (3.) Remove the security setting for this user that grants access to the modified report (do this at a PC that is not having the issue - as GP will might a problem removing access to a modified report that it can't find).

    Hope this helps.

    Kevin,

May be you should look to recreate the Reports.Dic file for this user.
