Not Seeing Certain Fields on Customer table when using API

Hello,

I am new to Business Central and need some help using the API. I am trying to retrieve the following fields on the Customer table (with the intention to update them) using the API.

  • Salesperson Code
  • Training Certificate Date
  • Training Completed

BC1.jpg

However, when I use Postman to call the API I do not see these fields in the response returned:

BC2.jpg

I am using an HTTP GET to call into the API: api.businesscentral.dynamics.com/.../&lt;<guid>>/sandbox/api/v1.0/companies(<<guid>>)/customers?$filter=number eq '54321'

What am I missing here? How do I call the API to access these fields for a single Customer record? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

The fields that you are looking for is not part of standard API, you need to do customization if need to add

You can refer on below at properties section :

    docs.microsoft.com/.../dynamics_customer

It's never recommended to customize standard API pages. APIs are born with the intent to have a "fixed contract". You should create your own API page that uses the Customer table instead (with your custom namespace, version etc).

P.S. You've also OData that supports REST calls and where you can simply publish the Customer page.
