Usually the first thing to check check is the disk performance of the database servers. Are you using DS machines and SSD disks on the database servers?

There is no simple answer to your question. Here is a checklist cloudblogs.microsoft.com/.../ax-performance-troubleshooting-checklist-part-1a-introduction-and-sql-configuration from official support that could be a good starting point. Also the blog has several other article discussing performance troubleshooting. So go through them and then we can help you to move forward when you'll narrow down your issue to something more specific.

    Apologies for the generic question.

Is there any reference link or document available for hardware resources or software resources required for smooth working of application deployed on azure?

Please correct me if I'm wrong here, From code perspective I have to check the caching mechanism, indexes, heavy display methods, expensive database calls, heavy queries, unnecessary loops etc.

    Best regards

    Rishi

You forgot to mention any details, so on generic question like this you can get generic answer: it's either issue with your code or not enough hardware resources or software that needs to be maintained and configured.
