I have the exact same problem as mentioned in this thread with a difference that I am trying to insert a utcdatetime into a date field using insert_recordset. This is the error message that I get since the select statement is getting an extra timezone column DATETIMETZID.
'The select list for the INSERT statement contains more items than the insert list. The number of SELECT values must match the number of INSERT columns.

Has there been any fix introduced for this problem? Using a while select - insert has to be avoided.

From this point of view, 'The select list for the INSERT statement contains more items than the insert list. The number of SELECT values must match the number of INSERT columns.
The number of fields in your insert statement and select statement does not match.
Can you share the code of the insert and select parts?
