Using a Visual Studio Add in is there a way to at runtime toggle the required field flag?

Posted on by 5,701

Using a Visual Studio Add in  is there a way to at runtime toggle the required field flag for a field?
I have certain companies that need the field required, others don't so can't use modifier to do it as this would set it for all companies.
I can't see a "required" property on the form field in Visual Studio property window.

Can I pass thru dex or other technique?

regards,

Tim.

    Hi Tim,

How did the porting to VSTGP go? We are looking to do the exact same thing - shift our VBA mods to a series of .NET based Add-ins and I'd love to hear about your experience in doing so. If you don't mind, you can either reply to this thread or email me at aberquis@opentext.com.

I've recently moved all our modifications from VBA into the VSTGP addin in order to keep them all in one development domain.

That is why although possible in VBA, I was trying to avoid it.

I'm going to have to just add my own layer or required field validation to the forms that need it and manage it myself. That seems a shame when a mechanism already exists underneath.

I don't think this is possible through Visual Studio yet. What about doing it in VBA? Set the Field.Required property = True?
