Multiple companies - General Ledger Import (Invoices, bank statements, etc)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

With over 100 companies in MS Dynamics NAV, please can you advise if you can automate the ledger import across all companies.

E.g. we download bank transactions across all of the companies and we want to map it to the ledger import file and upload to all NAV companies in one go.

Please can you advise if this is possible?

Thanks,

Helena

    Few questions,

    01. Is the format same for all the banks? (Automation will be much easier)

    02. Are there any separate files or all the transactions are in a one single file?  (If it is in a one file under one format your life will be much easier)

You can write a small program which will import details to NAV. Let us know the answer for above questions so that we can give you a better option

May be you need to write a program to cater this requirement but it depends how the bank format is

if the bank format is different for every companies then it will difficult to manage in one program.

Normally, there exists one file with bank statement per company, which is loaded into this one company. Do you say that you have one file per all your companies? I can rather think of a situation that you would have 100 files for 100 companies, thus you would make needed settings in each company and then you can automate the import through some scheduled batch process that would import files from e.g. needed folders and upload them into needed company.
