Dynamics 365 file export

Hi,

I am working on Dynamics 365 Online. We have moved recently from CRM 2016 on-prem.

I have a need to extract data from D365 and save it as a csv file in our on-prem server. Any ideas how to achieve this?

We do have access to Azure services, if there is anything that we can use to communicate with on-prem that would be great. I researched on-prem data gateway but it is not an option for us. I looked into hybrid connection but wanted to see if anybody has done this kind of file transfer using it. Any suggestions would be help.

Thank you.

    Hi!

There are multiple options available - custom .net code (console application), Scribe, SSIS along with Dynamics CRM Adapters provided.

The approach depends on the data volume and selected option.

Combine Scribe with SSIS for other options such as migrating users. You can get users using SQL query and then create them in Dynamics CRM online using API (we will talk about synchronization of Active Directory with Dynamics CRM online to be able to let users use existing logins and email addresses).

It's a video about one simple tool. It might be helpful. This tool is designed to migrate data with no efforts. It works from cloud to on-premise and vice versa.

    Have a nice day!

    Hello,

I believe SSIS + KingswaySoft adapters can do that for you. Here is how it could work:

    1. You install SQL server with SSIS in your on-prem environment.

    2. You develop SSIS package that does what you need - data extraction from Online and save the data to local CSVs.

    3. You schedule this job through SQL Agent.
