This personnel number is already in use. Enter a new personnel number

Hello,

When I want to hire a new employee, I am confronted with this worrying message.

We enter the personal number manually, so no sequence of numbers is used.
I have checked the number entered and could not find this record anywhere in the system.

I am using D365 for F&O

What could be the cause?

I think the number is really used in HcmWorker table. You can look into table browser (?mi=SysTableBrowser&TableName=HcmWorker) if you have permissions to do it.

Hy,

may be this is a former employee so you will not this number in the regular workers form, use instead past workers or pending workers.

As suggested, check in workers form for all legal entities and also check in past workers, definitely this number was used.

Hello,

Thanks @andreasraithel.

I found the number in Past workers, but unfortunately I still can't delete the number.
Now I have different warning.

I have checked in Human resources-> Positions->All positions but there were no entry.

I found an entry in the global address book, but when I try to delete it, I get this error message.

I could not find any relationship for this position and user.

Hi Mirza,

Various tables can have records that are related to the worker record. Also, these tables are often date effective. From my experience, it is impossible to delete past workers. You will need to consider using another personnel number for your new employee. In case it is the same person, you can hire the worker again.
