Crystal Report - Showing wrong DATA - shows child (which is inactive) instead of Parent who has activity

I have a master Table which hold the data for Customers. Customers are like parent/child
I have a report which where we are using for a very long time. there is one customer who is inactive for years and was never displayed in any report as there was no activity.
Until end of March 2022 the report was fine and displayed correctly.
Now we have an activity for the parent account which is coded correctly while no change has been made in the report for years.
Starting April this year, the child customer starts surfacing in reports and parent gets disappeared while there is no activity for the that customer.

Looked all over the place but can't figure out why is this happening

Any idea ? please do share

While I am not familiar with Crystal Reports, I will leave this thread open for others in the community to chime in on in case they have encountered a similar issue.

Thanks for moderating it.

While digging further, it looks like it is the issue with database and Parent/Master setup . For some reasons it is displaying the sales under child account while it should be under parent account.

So what I did was, made the child account as INACTIVE and put it on HOLD and surprisingly it picked another CHILD account but not the PARENT .

Any body experienced this kind of issue where GP Data will show/display the sales activity as CHILD instead of PARENT?

Did you check the Transaction date for that Child Customer?. Most probably the time when the transaction was done, this child customer was active.

I use SSRS/report writer so unfortunately I can't advice you on crystal report. Microsoft also don't promote Crystal report now. f you would have SSRS then I think I would be more helpful for you.

I think it is not Crystal or SSRS it is the GP/SQL.

The reason is; why it is showing the sale under Child when it belongs to Parent whether the customer account is active or inactive?

Did anyone play with the National Accounts setup in GP ? that's the only thing I could see which would have an effect on parent/child customer accounts.
