Which version of RMS are you using.  You can find this Manager    Help Menu-> About

You need to be on the same version on each station, also Feature Pack 2 is the first release patch to un-officially support windows 8.   Also you must be using windows 8 professional or above.

Also have you enabled Microsoft® .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 under Programs & Features.

Do You have a domain setup?  Also did you install and run as administrator on the windows 8 machine?

    Dear all

    i 'm with Ibrahim Zubair

the problem still there, i try every thing mentioned

    rms version are 2.0.0150

    windows 8 pro , updated

i think the problem from database not from windows or rms ,

because when i tried to delete DatabaseMetaData table

this POS working and another POS not work

i tried again and i find out that's first POS was open it's work fine and another POS will get same message

''data value named 1 not found ''

    Thanks in Advance

Sounds like maybe you have the stations using the same register number.  You can check this on each station under the RMS Administrator program.  If they are both set to 1 then you will have to change one of the stations to a different number like 2.  Also if this is the case make sure you have 2 registers defined within the Manager program.  One definition for each register number.  You can find this under Database menu -> Registers -> Register List

I don't think I've seen that one before.

Make sure the path to the Reports folder is correct. SO Admin | File | Configuration | Paths tab

Do these machines work OK when connecting to their Offline database?

    Did you install the SQL2k5 Backward Compatibility Components from here on every machine;

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

Click the download button and find the appropriate one for the your OS

    64b

    ENU\x64\SQLServer2005_BC.msi

    32b

    ENU\x86\SQLServer2005_BC.msi

You can either install all Component items or just the second one in the list is all you need.

    RE: Error when open POS

    Hi,

Did anyone get a resolution to this issue?

Same scenario happened in one of our systems.

I have narrowed it down to be windows profile specific issue.

If I login to a different profile with similar privileges, POS opens fine.
