Sales Transaction Document exists in both Work and History table even after voiding a transaction.

Posted on by 45

Hi,

Recently our sales people voided few quotes from Sales Transaction Entry form. We have one sql report which shows all Work and History transactions for today's date. We have noticed that Report shows duplicate documents. When I checked Work and History tables, all those documents are available in both Work and History table.

I noticed that when they void Sales transaction (Quote) from Sales Transaction Entry form, transaction voids successfully but Report Destination window does not pop-up to print. At the time of  voiding quote, there is no any opened Report Destination Window in background. Because of this situation, They assume that transaction has voided successfully. Most of the time, they don't close the sales transaction window because they have to create many quotes during a day. When they completely close Sales Transaction Entry form, Report Destination window pops up and Sales Transaction Document moved from work to History table.

Is there any way to fix this issue without closing Transaction Entry Form?

Thanks,

Atul

    Hi Atul-

Thank you for submitting your question on the Forums.  I tested this on my end and did get the same results.  You do need to close out each report generated when posting in GP to "complete" the process of posting.  There currently is not a way around this.  I would suggest processing the voids(do all of them at same time that are needing to be voided) by the user and then close out of the window and review/close reports before attempting to enter any new quotes or other sales transactions.

This should help you avoid any data issues with transactions stuck in work and open tables in SQL.  Let us know if you have any other questions.  Have a great day!
