We currently have a webpage setup with a ClickDimensions form which allows the visitor to fill out the contact form and then is provided with a new page that allows them to choose several different content items to download. Based on what they chose to download, that information (document name) along with the details from the contact form are submitted together and populated within the newly created lead record in Dynamics. I need to create a similar process but using Dynamics Marketing Webpage and using Dynamics Marketing Forms but having difficulty replicating this current site design and not finding much help on the Microsoft site how to easily track downloads. It seems more often the Insight data is noted as anonymous within Dynamics Insight and not easily associated with a newly created lead/contact in Dynamics. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
We have opened a ticket with Microsoft support since this system behavior doesn't seem to be expected from what I have researched on Microsoft's website.
Thanks Peter but I tried using redirect URL's and those activities kept showing as anonymous in the system under Insights and not registering to known contact and lead records still.
Hi Christopher,
I think that redirect links can help you to track which file was downloaded by which visitor:

Hi Haig - Thanks for the reply and very interested in exploring this option you suggested. If we were to create a download entity could you help explain based on the form submitter's selection how to enable the download links just for what they selected? Meaning if we have 3 choices for what a submitter can download and they only choose 1 of those options, how would we setup the logic so the submitter is only given their selection as available for download and not provided with all 3 options? - Thanks for the advice. Chris
Hi Christopher Peterson,
Regarding how to make the web page recognize what files the customer has downloaded; I don't think this is a feature that marketing already has.
However, if you create a download entity, let the user list the files they want to download in the drop-down list.
After the form is submitted, enabling the download link for the files will let you know which files each person has downloaded.
