How do I backup and restore Management reporter

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

1.  Is there a quicker, more simple way than the following to do backups and restores?

2.  Is there anything that needs to be done other than the following:

 Backup the database

Backup the application folder

Export the reports and definitions

Restore Management Reporter

Restore the backup

Restore the application folder

import the reports and definitions

Thank you,

    Hello,

    I don' beleive you need to do all of that but I do like that you export the reports.

    All you need to do is backup the database and then restore it.  You shouldn't need t odo anything with the application folder.

    Once you restore a database you will need to reset the master key with one of the KB's depending on your version of MR.

    Once you do that you should be able to connect to the database.
