See unpublished changes

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have googled this and can't seem to come up with anything.

How do you "see" any unpublished changes that are currently waiting to be published?  There has to be a way. Is there a report already built in?  Or something in the customize section?   Even a way to check this using SQL?

I would find it very hard to believe there isn't a way to check for this.  What if someone had customized something and forgot about it?  Then months later they do some more work, publish and find out! Surprise! :)

Is there a way to do this?

You must track what you have made and haven't deployed in VCS, build\release\deploy system.

There is nice book from MS regarding Dynamics and ALM: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

It is for CRM 2011, but used approach still of current interest.

    Have a look at this:

    social.microsoft.com/.../dynamics-crm-published-and-unpublished-customizations

Not sure if this is still applicable to 2016, but might be worth a try

Was afraid of that. Totally blows my mind.   Normally when you develop stuff you need to track the changes you've made and haven't deployed yet, etc.  Really hoping someone already has some SQL to get to this. Thank you though!

    Hello,

There is no report or other functionality to see unpublished changes. Theoretically it's possible using SQL Script but I haven't seen any examples.
