For tax exempt customers, I cannot find anywhere that allows me to set them as exempt from sales tax. Right now, all customers are taxed depending on the part #/product, then I need to manually change the taxable field on the sales order.

Andrew, you may need to set up a tax exempt code (Foundation/Shared Info/Maint/Tax Maint). Depending on your taxing structure and reporting needs (multiple states), you may need to set up more than one. Then, in Cust Maint, on the Default tab, enter the exempt or resale Registration number if applicable, and enter the tax code into Tax ID 1 field. Check the "Suspend" box. Depending on whether your tax code applies to the customer or to the address, you may need to do same for your ship to addresses as well. The sales tax rate is driven from the Ship To address, which means you can't add it to the sales order on the fly.
