Do I have to get a license for every user that wants to use field service mobile.
So let's say I have 500 field technicians that will only use the mobile application (and some are not even employees), do I need to buy 500 licenses?

There are 2 options, either buy Team Member license or Full Access license. In Team Member license you cannot use the Field Service mobile application. So its better to buy Field Service app and full access license to users. Each Dynamics 365 for Field Service User SL also includes rights to Microsoft
Social Engagement, Voice of the Customer for Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dynamics 365 Mobile Offline,
Dynamics 365 - Gamification, and Microsoft PowerApps capabilities. Additionally, this license includes
rights to configure and administer the Dynamics 365 for Field Service application.
