Installing Management Report for Ax 2012 R3 gives error

Posted on by 1,669
Hi everyone
I'm trying to install Management Reporter for Ax 2012 R3 CU13 but I'm getting this error:

Result 'Application Service', status = failed:
An error occurred during database deployment. View the deployment log for more information.

Checking the log file further I get this error:

Calling SRSetRestorePoint API. dwRestorePtType: 0, dwEventType: 102, llSequenceNumber: 0, szDescription: "Installed Microsoft Dynamics ERP Management Reporter 2012 Server".
The call to SRSetRestorePoint API failed. Returned status: 0. GetLastError() returned: 127

The event log on the AOS box has this error:

The description for Event ID 139 from source Dynamics .NET Business Connector 6.0 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

6.0:
Error 2 during access to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\SetupSupport\axsysEN-AU.ktd.

The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file

Although I believe this has been installed.
.
  • I'm trying to install the server component on the AOS server, there is a separate SQL server.
  • Using SQL Server 2016 SP1
  • The AOS account and MR account have access to the database.
  • I'm not sure yet (busy checking) whether Kerberos is being used - which I don't know much about.
What other permissions do I need to set up? What am I missing?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

    Hello BrandonSA,

Please have a look at the following installation guide.

    cdn2.hubspot.net/.../MRforDynERPInstGuide.pdf

Probably something has been overlooked when making the installation.

On the MS docs sites, some additional hints are available.

    Please see: docs.microsoft.com/.../install-management-reporter-components

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
