Yes, you can create a real time workflow which will be triggered on create and assign the record to the team.

Sure, you can do that. If there are no complex conditions, you can create a OOB workflow on record create and assign it to the user. Else you can do this using a plugin as well. But make sure the necessary priveleges are there.
