Hello,
I have a custom Assigned To field which is a lookup from User table. I have a workflow that can auto-populate this with Owninguser value On Assign using the Assign button. After this, a workflow that will send an email to the value of Assigned To field would be triggered. And I have no issue on that.
However, when I am populating the Assigned To field via the field itself since this is a lookup to User, I am generating the Business process error - User does not have send-as privilege. I'm wondering how could this happen since the user selected in the lookup is a system admin which has all the privileges available out there.
Please help.
Regards,
CRMFan

Nice Explanation, thanks Sachith !
Hi Sachith,
Thank you for this.
The issue is not about the selected user in the lookup field as he/she is the recipient of the email. issue lies with who sends the email (from field). When you populate that field on the form you are trying to send the email on behalf of another user (behalf of the user account you have used for the from field in the email activity in the workflow). Log in as that user and under options -> email tab check the check box "Allow other users to send emails on behalf of you". Then this should be fine.
Reason this works the other way is this workflow is being called by another workflow (so the same user account is used I believe and no sending on behalf problem exist here)
You can use the XRM tool box as well to check this check box without logging as that user.
