    RE: Error registering table

    Lesrene,

This is a very old post and unless you know exactly what you are doing I highly recommend against editing your GP clients dex.ini file. Were I in your situation I would open a support incident with Microsoft to help resolve the issue.

In most installations the file resides here C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP (Year matching your current version)\Data\Dex.ini and can be edited with any text editor (I'm partial to Notepad++ but regular old notepad will do).

Everyone has a test environment, not everyone is lucky enough to have a production and test environment.

    RE: Error registering table

I posted a payroll and realized that it was double posted for some unknown reason.  I tried voiding the double posting at the Void Payroll Checks window but got this message "Error registering table not found" .  I am on GP 10.  I was reading some posts and saw where it says to change the the dex.ini file so that Synchronize=TRUE and that will solve the problem.  The bigger problem is that I am clueless.  How do I change the dex.ini file?  And is this the only solution for voiding the double posted payroll?

If you were to go to server and log in as this user do you get the error message? Are you sure all three terminal servers have the exact same GP code loaded on them? Are any modified alternate forms involved here? It does not appear so from your screenshot. It sounds like it is user specific so I would check under Atlernate Forms and Reports to see if this person's security is set different than other people. Once you find the difference you will have your answer.

    RE: Error registering table

    Richard,

This is the email I get every day - not a  good way to start a day!

I have been hunting for a solution, so far not successful.   So far i have done the following:

    1) Have all user log off, set the synchronize to true, run GP utilities as administrator, login as sa.  The sync of dictionary gets completed.  Revert back the synchronize setting to false.  I don't get this error message, it just for this user.  In our environment the GP is delivered through through load balanced terminal services - user can land in any one of the 3 terminal servers.

    2) Recreated all the forms and reports dictionaries.

    3) Have all users log off, clean up the application data at profiles so that all c-tree TNT files are all deleted.

    4) Run the Grant.SQL  and then followed it with point (1) above.

    5) Restored the Dynamics.dic files from backups and then followed with point (1) above.

    6) Moved all dictionary files from network drive to local drive

    The hunt continues ....

    RE: Error registering table

Is this just one user having this issue? If so, it is possible that somehow on this computer the DYNAMICS .DIC file never got synchronized with the database. The first thing you want to do is make sure you are logged in with adminstratiuve rights or ast least have full control of the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics folder. Then modify the DEX.INI setting the SYNCHRONIZE = TRUE. Launch GP and you will be prompted to launch GP Utilities. Let it go all the way through and make sure you see a box quickly appear that says Synchronizing. The Launch GP again..The user should now be able to Cards->Financial->Account without issue.

    RE: Error registering table

It's not only about changing the synchronization to TRUE in the Dex.ini, you still need to go through the steps by running the utilities in order for the synchronization process to be completed.

Mr. Sanjay gets it just right by including the support articles, further details will be found specifically on Support Article: 2492442 mentioned above.

    Hope this helps,

    That's nothing to worry about, check out the reference by Ms. Leslie,  I just love the way Leslie describes how to get this error solved out;
