Generic Resource Start and Finish dates Read Only

Posted on by 235

Hi all,

Simple question...if I add a Generic Resource the start and end dates become read only.

Can anyone tell me why that is and how I would edit those dates?

    Thanks for trying to help but based on my understanding they are very important. These dates are the basis of booking resources to your project.

    Hi again, i'm not sure, quite new to Project Operations, like everybody i guess (-;

    I checked the field, i guess it is the field below, if so, then it is only the start date of the membership (and in my opinion, not really important)

    Thanks Leonardu   ..but what the resource has not been assigned to any task?  If I create a generic resource and save, but then decide before submitting a requirement/request for a named resource that I want to change the dates...do I have to delete and re-create?

    Hi ghdunn,

    you probably want to do that from the Team tab
    i guess yoiu will be able to change the dates when you do it from the Tasks tab
