Bank Deposits do not show in Bank Reconciliation

Hi

I have the following scenario

2 cheques received from customers but deposited in one deposit

I entered that via the deposit screen

so I want the details of each cheque to be reflected on the customer but they should show as one deposit # in the bank

Bank-Deposit.png

when I went to do the bank Reconciliation, I didn't see any mention of the deposit number and the 2 cheques went in 2 lines

how can I reflect the deposit amount and number in the bank reconciliation ?

Is there another screen that I should use

Thanks
Ola

    Hello Ola,

I believe this is currently by design when the Bank Recon. with Auto. Match in General Ledger Setup is marked, please consider entering a suggestion to change this functionality.  You can enter your suggestion here:

    Hi Jennifer ,

    Thanks for your reply

yes, I think it will make sense to be reflected similar to how it will be reflected in the bank statement

Does that mean if I unmark the auto match in GL setup that can change and will add that as a one line in the bank, or unmarking that wont make a difference

    Thanks

    Ola

    Hi Jennifer

I unmarked the auto match in the General Ledger setup and I can see now that the deposit shows as one line and I can drill down to see the details of each cheque

That said, it did change the screen design where the bank reconciliation is done, which is fine

but I was wondering what else has changed that I 'm not aware of by unmarking the auto match in the GL setup

is there any other main functionalities that changed based on this check box. any implication that I need to be aware of before I deselect it.

when I mark it or unmark it I get the attached message

    Thanks

    Ola

    Hello Ola,

The biggest difference when this checkbox is unmarked is that the window will look different and there is not an option to import in transactions for reconciliation.

The message that you get it's just a warning about reports, and at the end of the message it says that a compatible report has been selected so you should be okay.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Hey Jennifer,

How does the automatic reconciliation match deposits properly if the bank statement imports the summary amount but the bank ledger shows the detail amounts? Does the bank transaction import file contain the details rather than the summary?
