D365 App for Outlook Dashboard Menu Selection

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Menu-Drop-Down.JPG

Hello

The Menu selection box on the far left hand side ( three lines) is no longer has a drop down box which would normally give us the option to select a Lead, Contact or Account.

We do not know why and have tried to trouble shoot this.

Note that we are a small business and no one has edited any of the underlying properties for the D365 App for Outlook Site Map and its underlying properties.

Is anyone aware of any issues ? This has only just happended in the last 5 working days.

With thanks

Penny

RE: D365 App for Outlook Dashboard Menu Selection

    Hi partner,

I found the reason for this problem.

We can't add a Group or Subarea under Home Area. We can only create a new Area and then add a Group or Subarea under the new Area.

If you add Subarea below the Home Area, you will encounter the problem you described above.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

RE: D365 App for Outlook Dashboard Menu Selection

    Hi partner,

Customizations to App for Outlook sitemap are not supported at this time. (Please refer to this article.)

Therefore, it is currently not possible to add Account, Contact, and Lead to the drop down box in the Menu selection box on the far left hand side (three lines).

Please go to the sitemap of the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook and delete the extra entities to restore the default sitemap.

    The default sitemap:    4048.2.JPG

Here is now to enable entities to appear in Quick create menu of Sitemap: (Please refer to this article.)

If you want to search for records, you could click on the search button and select filters to search for records.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi partner,

I tested it in my D365 App for Outlook and it has the same problem as yours.

I think this is a bug.

I have raised a Microsoft support ticket and submitted this bug to the back office engineer.

If I get a solution, I will post here or send you a private message.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Lu Hao
