Assigning HR roles in FinOps when you have deployed D365 HR

Hi all,

This might seem like a strange question but here goes.

My company has already deployed some modules of D365 HR and we have all users with accounts and roles across multiple legal entities.

We are now working through the process of deploying D365 FinOps in a major factory and I am looking at security. I have been given an extract of all the FinOps roles available to select from and within that I see roles like "employee" "manager" "HR assistant" (etc) which match the roles I gave out when deploying D365 HR.

So do I need to consider giving any of those "HR" roles in the FinOps deployment or would that make no sense?

Thanks in anticipation,

Steve

    Hi Steve,

It all depends on what the users in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations needs to perform. If you have linked the HR environment with Finance and Operations, the workers will be synchronized and data can be still maintained in HR.

Can you elaborate what exactly should be visible or editable for several users in Finance and Operations?

As i understand your question, you have already assigned roles in F&O for HR module but now you have HR module on its own to utilize its full potential. What you're wondering is if you need to assign the same roles in the HR module of Dynamics 365 similar to what you had done in F&O HR? if that is correct then i would say that you probably would have to because a lot of the functionalities have been transferred over and if you're going to integrate the the HR with F&O then a new set of security needs to be put in place since i don't expect the HR manager to perform any sort of activities in F&O HR.

    Hi Steve,

To answer your query, I would say considering "HR" roles in the FinOps deployment is purely based on your business requirement. There is no restriction from Microsoft to do that operation. If your business requirement matches with the roles in HR then you can absolutely consider. Please let me know, if you have any additional queries, Thanks.

Had an interview recently with a fairly big MNC in finance. Manager was supposed to call at 3 30 PM, ended up calling me at 4 45. After that just starts off asking technical questions (Didn't even bother to say hi or apologize for being so late). Further went on to ask extremely intrusive questions such as krogerfeed

    Are you married ?

Will you just leave your parents behind and move away ?

How many siblings and what do they do ?
