Base app restricting Extension App properties while using 'Edit in Excel' feature

Hello!

I am using 'Edit in Excel' functionality in 'Sales Invoice'.

The 'Editable' property is Set to False in base app for "Job No." field in "Sales Invoice Subform" page.

"Click On" Page -> "Edit in Excel" action

I tried to modify the data in excel for "Job No." and I facing the issues as 'Changes made to read only fields will be reverted, Continue Yes/No'.

It is fine because the field is set to non-editable.

Now I modified the 'Editable' property to True by creating an extension app.

When I tried to modify the data in excel for "Job No.", I am facing the same issue but it is working manually.

I thought it is taking base app priority and facing the issue in both BC 17 and 18 versions also.

Is there any way to get this work done ?

    You cannot make it as long as this field is part of a key or set to not editable in the underlying table. 

    If you REALLY need to change that field you might investigate to create a codeunit with the appropriate permissions and see if this succeed in make the appropriate changes.
