Flowfiels question

Posted on by 5,124
Hello. Is it possible to create a flowfield column in sales header that sums up (quantity - quantity shipped) * unit price from sales line table? Im not able to make this happen. It almost seems like i have to write a global function in sales header to make this happen.

    RE: Flowfiels question

Hi All, because I couldn't perform calc on a flowfield, I created a global function that does the calculation and returns the result as decimal.  But then I compared the result with Outstanding Amount and they are equal.  So I ended up using the Outstanding Amount after all.

You cannot use formulas in the flowfield. Easiest way is to have a function in the line table which will update the header table depending on the changes.

    Hi mbr,

You cannot use flowfield to make a calculation on some fields.

My suggestion is a function return decimal on Sales Header.

    Hi

You are not able to create flow field with multiple fields, you need to create a function in the sales line to update the field in the sales header

    RE: Flowfiels question

    Hi,

Using the above formula, I don't think that you can create a FlowField in the Sales Header using the data from "Sales Line".  If your requirement is to display it on the Page, you may very well use a variable, calculate it and display it on the page.

As mentioned before, you can create a flowfield in the "Sales Header" based on the "Outstanding Amount" from "Sales Line".

Oh! You mean there's an outstanding amt field in sales line equivalent to formula =(quantity - quantity shipped) * unit cost? If so, let me take a looksy at the sales line tAble again.

Moving forward, can u create a flowfield for above formula????

    Hi,

Are you getting any error while creating a flowfield in the Sales Header table based on the "Outstanding Amount" field from the "Sales Line"?

    Please post the error.

    Hi mmv,

But i have a tough time creating a flowfield. It's only allowing me to enter one field as opposed to (quantity - quantity) * unit price.

    Hi,

You may create the flow of the "Outstanding Amount" from "Sales Line" which will give you the same result.

    Best Regards,

    MMV
