import new items from excel

Hello,

I am looking for a way to import and create new items from an excel document

I have various excel files from suppliers with all the information I need and I would like to create a new item for each line in the excel document.
That would save so much time.

    Hi manobridge,

    This can´t be done directly from your excel files. As You need to map many SQL tables in the RMS database.

    Some of the partners have had some tools, for importing from external files. Looong time ago, I had an excel file that was importing into RMS, but I need to look for the file (honestly dont know where it is).

    You need to fill in the file XLS to import, but remeber is importnat:

    - are we talking about RMS HQ or RMS single store

    - the items You want to import are matrix items? 

    - do You want to create also te ItemLookupcodes of the items or you plan to use your provides item codes?

    We are talking about RMS single store

    Yes the items would be matrix items in our system

    Yes I would like to create ItemLookupcodes instead of using the suppliers codes.

    What kind of tool are we talking about? I read about Microsoft Retail Management Systems Store Operations Import Utility, but I can't find it anywhere.
