To accommodate to the federal government’s 2020 1099 requirements, we have released a couple of different hotfixes to our AX 2012 code base via hotfix KB’s 4599737 and 4601044. With the release of these two AX 2012 hotfix KB’s (4599737 and 4601044), we encountered the following issues:
- 4599737: This hotfix release had the following issues:
- The database upgrade scripts would not execute and update the transactional 2020 1099 data to the corrected box numbers.
- An alignment issue where 1099-NEC data would not align to the appropriate box number when sending the data to the form.
- 4601044: This hotfix release had the following issue:
- The database upgrade scripts would not execute if a prior 1099 year’s hotfix had already been installed in the environment. This would indicate that transactional 2020 1099 data would not align to the corrected box numbers.
Since the discovery of the issues with the release of hotfix KB’s 4599737 and 4601044, our Product\Development team has been working extensively to release a corrected AX 2012 1099- NEC via hotfix KB 4602212 which can be accessed below:

FAQs:
Question: If I’ve installed 4601044, How can I validate that the database upgrade scripts were successfully executed?
Answer:
- Open the Vendors form for a Vendor that previously had a MISC-07 box number defined and:
- Verify that the 1099 Box number that defaults on the Tax 1099 fast tab of the Vendors form now says ‘NEC-01’.
- While in the Vendors form, click the Tax information | Vendor settlement for 1099s button to open the Vendor settlement for 1099s form. Enter a From Date of 01/01/2020 and a To Date of 12/31/2020 and validate that the 1099 box displays as ‘NEC-01’.
- Verify that the 1099 Box number that defaults on the Tax 1099 fast tab of the Vendors form now says ‘NEC-01’.
If these two areas both reflect NEC-01, this would validate that the upgrade scripts were executed successfully aligning the 2020 1099 transactional data to the new box numbers. If it appears that the database upgrade scripts did not execute, please contact Microsoft Support via opening a Support Incident and workarounds will be discussed.
Question: What if only hotfix 4599737 was installed but 4601044 and 4602212 were not installed? What do I do?
Answer: If you only have hotfix 4599737 installed but did not install 4601044 or 4602212 installed, this would mean that you will likely experience alignment issues when printing the 1099’s to form. You should move forward with the release of hotfix KB 4602212 via the provided LCS link:
