Migrate Stored procedures from CRM 2011 to Dynamics 365

Hi all ,

We are migrating our organization from CRM 2011 to Dynamics 365 , There are different stored procedures having CRUD operations to CRM DB , being called from plugins and workflows .

how can we migrate these SPs and utilize this in Dynamics 365 .

    Hi,

     database customizations with stored procedures are not supported for Dynamics, so there can be no "official" answer to that question other than "get rid of the stored procs". Besides, if you are migrating to CRM online, you are simply out of options - there is no way you can get those stored procedures to the online environment.

     If you are staying on-prem, you can probably migrate the stored procedures on a "case by case" basis, but, quite likely, that's just postponing the inevitable.

    Presumably on-prem to on on-prem, you'd have to copy the SP manually (recreate through query window in sql server management studio).  The query will error if you are missing attributes and table names, so potentially some fixes will be required.

    Alternatively recreate these SP's as plugins in D365 (a more laborious task).
