Record selector not working in model app

Posted on by 385

I recently developed a Model app in Dynamics the problem is the record selector at the bottom of the main view page isn't working?

In the regular dynamics it does work.. for example when I select "M".. it shows me customers beginning with letter "M"

But in the model app on the same view when I select "M" it returns all the engagement names starting with "M" not customers?

Customers is my primary sort and engagements is my secondary sort.

Why would the record selector sort on different field names in a model app vs a regular dynamics one?  And why would it select based on a secondary sort column rather than the primary?

Only thing I can figure is the secondary sort column view is the primary field.  So it is sorting on that?

But how do I set what to return via the record selector?

Thanks,  Although I am not sure where to find the things you are suggesting?

"Admin form" not sure what that is.  You mean the main default form in the same entity as the view?

"Data Entry Property" Where do I find this? I have looked everywhere in the model app editor and through the regular site.

    Thanks,

    Terry

    The view is the same.

Just when I access it through a model app vs regular the record selector is working differently.

I have put two pictures of each, the record selector bar and the returned results when the "M" is selected.

    Thanks,

    Terry

    Hi,

Go to the admin form's Design View and make sure the Data Entry property is set to "No." And If you open the Form in design view, you may see on the Property Sheet, Data Tab, Filter = "some text here" and Filter On Load = Yes. If you have these settings try removing the string and changing the value Filter On Load = No.

    Hi partner,

Are the views of the two screenshots you provided the same?

We have to make sure they are the same view in order to validate this difference.

In addition, I tested it in my environment and did not encounter this problem.

So please clean your browser cache and provide the region and version of your D365.
